Forest Restoration Work Party @ Westcrest Park
Aug 5 @ 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

Forest Restoration Work Party @ Westcrest Park.
Saturdays 7/1 and 8/5 from 10 am – 2 pm.

Join DIRT Corps in revitalizing the southwest portion of Westcrest Park. The first step to bringing back this parcel is to remove invasive species. Once we have cleared the land, we will plant at later volunteer events this year.

The beginning of this volunteer event will include a brief weed ID education class. Learn about the different types of invasives, why they are harmful, and how to get rid of them. Combine knowledge with action as we work together to clear this beautiful space of harmful species that overtakes an area. Many of you might already have this experience in your own backyard!

There will be more events to come where we gradually transform and maintain Westcrest and make it a great public space for everyone to enjoy. Let us know of any questions, hope to see you out there!
PLEASE REGISTER HERE:

PARK: South parking lot off of SW Henderson St, next to the dog park.
MEET: Meet at southeast side of the south parking lot, next to the horse barn.

Oct 28 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Mahonia Project Work Party @ South Seattle College from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm on Saturdays.

The South Seattle College is hosting an exciting new horticulture project and we welcome plant lovers from West Seattle and beyond to join in the fun. Supported by the Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA), our research will investigate the genus Mahonia in a search for the best garden species and cultivars for the Pacific Northwest. Monthly work parties are scheduled for the 3rd Thursday (4-6 pm) and last Saturday (10 am-noon) of each month. This is a unique opportunity to participate in ‘citizen science’ and observe the growth of over 90 kinds of Mahonia, many of which are entirely new to this region. And if you thought you knew ‘Oregon Grape’, think again and join us as we discover these exciting new garden plants for the Pacific Northwest.

Mahonia Project Saturday Work Party @ South Seattle College
Feb 24 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Mahonia Project Work Party @ South Seattle College
Jun 21 @ 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Mahonia Project Work Party @ South Seattle College, 4pm-6pm.

For more information please contact: mahoniaseattle@gmail.com. Please look here to find our location on campus.
