Homework Help for children and teens at the High Point Library on Mondays: Sep. 11 – Dec 11, 2017, 4 – 7:30 pm.

Homework Help volunteers will be at this branch to assist students on a drop-in basis throughout the school year, with the exception of school holidays.These super volunteers provide support and encouragement to students and are especially good at helping new English speakers.

Please note that, while Homework Help is available to students from kindergarten through 12th grade, volunteers are not responsible for children, who should not be left unsupervised.

Each Tuesday’s unique program is described below, through December 19th (note that date has a slightly different start/end time):

Programs are designed for children ages 3-5 years old to attend with their parent or caregiver. Children of all ages are welcome to attend.

The Family Resource Center will be hosting pre-school enrichment programs every Tuesday from now until December 19th in partnership with the Woodland Park Zoo, Pacific Science Center, Seattle Children’s Theatre, and Seattle Public Library, as well as a special event JAMTOWN Concert on October 31st.

Preschooler Enrichment Programs

Each Tuesday’s unique program is described below, through December 19th (note that date has a slightly different start/end time):

Programs are designed for children ages 3-5 years old to attend with their parent or caregiver. Children of all ages are welcome to attend.

The Family Resource Center will be hosting pre-school enrichment programs every Tuesday from now until December 19th in partnership with the Woodland Park Zoo, Pacific Science Center, Seattle Children’s Theatre, and Seattle Public Library, as well as a special event JAMTOWN Concert on October 31st.

With the growth of Plant for the Planet (a youth-led climate organization) in Seattle and enough Climate Justice Ambassadors in the South, we have officially kicked off our monthly West Seattle meetings. Every 3rd Friday we’ll meet at 7 PM at the Puget Ridge Co-housing Common House. With the growth of Plant for the Planet (a youth-led climate organization) in Seattle and enough Climate Justice Ambassadors in the South, we have officially kicked off our monthly West Seattle meetings. Every 3rd Friday we’ll meet at 7 PM at the Puget Ridge Co-housing Common House. It is story time at the Delridge Library! Bring your preschoolers and toddlers to enjoy stories, rhymes, songs and fun with our children’s librarian, Miss Bea.

Library events and programs are free and everyone is welcome. Registration is not required.

Story times are some of our most popular events! Please come early to make sure you get a seat. Due to the fire code, we can’t exceed the maximum capacity for our rooms.

Our club meets at 6:30pm every Wednesday upstairs at the Sisson Building in West Seattle.The address is 4217 SW Oregon St, on the corner of California Ave SW and SW Oregon. Additional service project locations are announced each month.

Membership is open to all men and women who possess a genuine interest in serving the community. West Seattle Kiwanis was the second service club established in West Seattle, and began in 1929.

Members of the community who might be interested in joining Kiwanis are invited to attend a meeting.

Looking for a fun way to spend your Friday night with the entire family that won’t break your pockets? Look no further. The Alki Community Center hosts skate night every Friday night (with some exceptions). Join us for a night of skating with your family and friends every Friday night. Don’t have your own skates? That’s ok, we have your size. Enjoy a night of family fun to the latest pop music, races, and lights.

Fridays: 5:45-7:45 pm
Note- check ahead: Seattle Community Centers may be closed during holiday periods or for special events.
Ages 2 and older.
Cost to skaters is $3 per person.

Crafting @ Highland Park Improvement Club

Crafting at HPIC on the 2nd (and 4th) Tuesday of each month from 11 am-1 pm.

A group for people in South Seattle who like to knit, crochet, quilt, spin, etc., or who are interested in learning. We trade tips, supplies and snacks! Everyone is welcome regardless of skill level. Children are welcome. Free and open to the public.
