West Seattle Tool Library provides free, community access to a wide variety of tools, training, and sustainable resources. Utilizing a diverse collection of over 1,500 tools, our membership has successfully grown entire community orchards, built mini-greenhouses, and even just mowed their own lawns. From basic tasks to brilliant innovations, the projects accomplished by the West Seattle Tool Library’s 780+ members have made all the tools in the collection proud to be working again.
Every year on the night of Halloween, hidden behind Meeds Manor, there is something strange to behold. It’s carried in by autumn’s fog and leaves with the dawn of November 1st. No one knows how it happens or why in this exact spot, but every year it seems to get a little creepier. It’s force draws to it children of all ages, both near and far. And although we’ve never seen anyone who dares to enter leave quite the same as they arrived, they always come back for more!!
This year, the chills are starting early, and our community will be haunted to support the West Seattle Jr Football and Cheer organization. Join us on Friday, October 27th, from 7-9 pm for a spine-tingling experience. We kindly request a suggested donation of $10 per family, directly supporting this local club and their mission of nurturing essential life skills in our youth, beyond the playfield.

The Garden Center at South Seattle College provides Landscape Horticulture students the opportunity to increase their knowledge of plants while gaining real-world retail experience. Plants available for sale are selected, propagated, grown and presented by Landscape Horticulture students. Additional plants are brought in from local growers. Proceeds benefit Landscape Horticulture Program projects.
The selection includes perennials, ground covers, shrubs, some annual edibles and flowers, as well as indoor plants. Cash and electronic payments accepted.

We are also hosting an online fundraiser to raise 10,000 dollars for the food bank this Holiday Season. Rates of Food Insecurity in Seattle have steadily risen over the past couple of years leaving 1 out of 10 people food insecure in King County. Now more than ever we need your help!

This is a direct action toward living out our weekly land acknowledgement. A committed group has been thoroughly researching the history of our property, especially focusing on the time between the Treaty of Point Elliott in 1855 and the first purchase by what was then West Seattle Congregational Church in 1900.

The West Seattle art walk is a monthly art event that is held the second Thursday of each month 5 pm to 9 pm year-round. The art walk is hosted by the local West Seattle merchants who feature a wide range of art and showcase our vibrant artist community.
The West Seattle Tool Library is open at Youngstown Cultural Arts Center space (east side of main building).
West Seattle Tool Library provides free, community access to a wide variety of tools, training, and sustainable resources. Utilizing a diverse collection of over 1,500 tools, our membership has successfully grown entire community orchards, built mini-greenhouses, and even just mowed their own lawns. From basic tasks to brilliant innovations, the projects accomplished by the West Seattle Tool Library’s 780+ members have made all the tools in the collection proud to be working again.
We will be holding a Personal Safety Class on November 9th from 6 PM to 8 PM virtually. We will discuss things such as awareness, trusting our instincts, making a safety plan, how to stay safe in different situations, how to call 911, etc. The class is suitable for anyone 14 years old and older who would like to learn some basic tips and tricks to live, learn, and work safety in Seattle. The next free admission Art of Music performances presented by the West Seattle Junction Association are coming up on Second Thursday Art Walk Evening November 9 at two locations—in the Alaska Junction at John L. Scott Real Estate West Seattle and in the Admiral District at West Seattle Realty.
Musicians will perform from 6 pm to 7:45 pm (with one 15-minute break at the midpoint).

The Garden Center at South Seattle College provides Landscape Horticulture students the opportunity to increase their knowledge of plants while gaining real-world retail experience. Plants available for sale are selected, propagated, grown and presented by Landscape Horticulture students. Additional plants are brought in from local growers. Proceeds benefit Landscape Horticulture Program projects.
The selection includes perennials, ground covers, shrubs, some annual edibles and flowers, as well as indoor plants. Cash and electronic payments accepted.
The Garden Center is located in the North Parking Lot at South Seattle College (6000 16th Ave SW) in the Puget Ridge neighborhood of West Seattle. Hike along Longfellow Creek, Saturday, November 11 from 10-12

Learn about the different plants and animals that inhabit this important ecosystem and about urban impacts affecting the creek and ways we can help reduce those impacts. The hike will be ~ 1 mile total on mainly flat trails. Participants should dress for the weather, wear comfortable walking shoes, and are encouraged to bring water.
