It is story time at the High Point Branch! Bring your babies to enjoy stories, rhymes, songs and fun with our children’s librarian. For infants ages 4 to 12 months old (sorry, older siblings need to stay at home).

Homework Help volunteers will be at the High Point Library to assist students on a drop-in basis throughout the school year, with the exception of school holidays.

These super volunteers provide support and encouragement to students and are especially good at helping new English speakers.

Please note that, while Homework Help is available to students from kindergarten through 12th grade, volunteers are not responsible for children, who should not be left unsupervised.

The See Art/Make Art series is part of the 25th Annual Southwest Artist Showcase, a non-juried, nonprofit exhibit.

Fauntleroy Fall Festival @ Fauntleroy Church, Y, Schoolhouse

The big neighborhood bash of the year, the Fauntleroy Fall Festival, will be Sunday, October 23rd, 2:00-5:00 pm in the church/YMCA/schoolhouse triangle.

The Fauntleroy Fall Festival is the largest event of the year and fun for all ages. Enjoy music, dance, food, pumpkin decorating, birdhouse building, arts and crafts, and learning opportunities. The Seattle Public Library invites preschoolers, parents and caregivers to special story times that highlight fire safety. Firefighters from the Seattle Fire Department will conduct story times with books on fire safety. Firefighting equipment and trucks will be on display.

The story times are free and everyone is welcome. Registration is not required. American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation will be available for each of the story times.

‘El Bibliobandido’ workshop for kids @ Southwest Library

At the Southwest Library: Story-eating bandit on the loose! We need your juiciest of stories. Come to a workshop for ages 7 to 11 for hands-on bookmaking + science + storytelling.

El Bibliobandido workshop is about paper, acting, online, and digital storycrafting. It is based in the legend of El Bibliobandido (or “Book Bandit”), a ravenous, story-eating bandit that pesters kids to write and offer him fresh-baked stories. Through character and art kids will practice to create art, write stories, and use technology to make them come to life.

5th Annual West Seattle Monster Dash 5K Run/Walk @ Lincoln Park

South Seattle College (WSB sponsor) Cooperative Preschools would like to invite the community to the 5th Annual West Seattle Monster Dash 5K Run/Walk and Little Monsters’ Dash at Lincoln Park on Saturday, October 29th. The 5K begins at 9 am, the Little Monsters’ Dash starts at 10 am. Costume contest and race awards will be given out at 10:30 am. Be sure to dress up!

Drop in at the High Point Library and work on a fun STEM-based craft or challenge and tinker around with construction and builder kits. There will be something for everyone ages 6 months to 1506 months!

Tinkerlab is a weekly all-ages program that introduces science, technology, engineering and math concepts through play, experimentation and discovery. Drop in for weekly self-directed challenges.

Homework help @ High Point Library

Homework Help volunteers will be at the High Point Library to assist students on a drop-in basis throughout the school year, with the exception of school holidays.

These super volunteers provide support and encouragement to students and are especially good at helping new English speakers.

Please note that, while Homework Help is available to students from kindergarten through 12th grade, volunteers are not responsible for children, who should not be left unsupervised.

Library events and programs are free and everyone is welcome. Registration is not required.
