West Seattle 4th of July Kids’ Parade @ Sunset SW to Hamilton Viewpoint Park

Start decorating your scooters, strollers, and trikes right now! The West Seattle Kids 4th of July Parade starts at 10:00 am on the corner of 44th and Sunset. Walk the parade route, then enjoy traditional games and treats at Hamilton Viewpoint Park. Rain will cancel the games. Concessions will be provided by the Admiral Neighborhood Association.

Please support the parade with a $1 contribution per child. Look for the red boxes at the parade start and finish.

The parade starts at the intersection of 44thh & Sunset (in front of 1137 Sunset Ave SW). The parade is about a ½ mile walk through the neighborhood, crossing California Ave SW, and ending at Hamilton Viewpoint Park. Kids are encouraged to dress up and decorate strollers, scooters, wagons, and bikes. There will be fun old-fashioned games at Hamilton Park (3-legged race, wheelbarrow races, and gunnysack races). Games will be cancelled if there is rain (no rain allowed).

The West Seattle Grand Parade @ Admiral to Alaska junctions down California SW

The West Seattle Grand Parade, occurring annually since 1935, is hosted by the West Seattle Rotary Service Foundation and is one of the oldest and most beloved community events in the Seattle area. The West Seattle Grand Parade includes participants from the Hi-Yu royalty and celebrates the diverse community and participants of the greater Seattle area. It is a proud member of the Seafair family of events and includes all of the pirates, clowns, marching bands, drill teams, floats, pageantry and excitement that leads up to the Seafair Torchlight Parade the following weekend.

The West Seattle Rotary Club also organizes the Hiyu Kiddie Parade on the same day which forms at Genesee and California and steps off heading south about 4 blocks to Edmunds at the same time as the Grand Parade steps off a mile north. Kids bring your bikes and wagons; parents bring your strollers. Free balloons and candy!

West Seattle Grand Parade in 2016 is Produced by the West Seattle Rotary Service Foundation and will be held on Saturday, July 23 at 11:00 am. The parade begins at California SW and SW Admiral Way, and continues down California SW to finish at SW Edmunds.
