Parent’s Night Out @ Chief Sealth International High School

WHAT?
The Seattle All City Band Council is hosting a Parent’s Night Out event that will provide childcare services for kids ages 5-12 on the evening of FRIDAY, MAY 6TH.

WHY?
We want to raise money for students participating in All-City Band that have financial need and also give back to a community that has given us lots of support.

WHEN & WHERE?
Friday, May 6th from 6:00-10:30 pm at Chief Sealth International High School in room 206 (enter through the West Entrance).

SCHEDULE:
6:00-7:00 pm: Check in and pizza dinner
7:00-8:30 pm: Board games or arts and crafts
8:30-10:00 pm: Movie with popcorn (Lilo and Stich, G-rated)
10:00-10:30 pm- Quiet play-time and parent pick up

COST
$25 PER CHILD. $15 per each additional child in the same family

Drop in for weekly self-directed challenges, join staff and mess around with cool inventor kits at monthly Tinkerlab Commons, and let us show you how to create amazing things using digital technology during occasional Tinkerlab Academies.

Library events and programs are free and everyone is welcome. Registration is not required.

4th Annual West Seattle Bee Festival @ High Point Commons Park
May 21 @ 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

Save the date! The West Seattle Bee Festival will be on Saturday, May 21st!

The Events Committee of the Open Spaces Association (ECOSA) will host the Fourth Annual West Seattle Bee Festival on Saturday, May 21st from 10 am until 2 pm. Please plan to join us! We will have lots of activities for kids, great music, wonderful food, and many opportunities to learn more about the West Seattle Bee Garden which is located in the High Point neighborhood. This is an outdoor festival that also features an Information/Vendor Fair.

The Honey Run starts at 10 am, with signups at 9:30 am.

Would you like to help as a volunteer at the festival or participate as a vendor? If so, please let us know! You can email us at westseattlebeefestival@gmail.com or text/call Karen, the 2016 Bee Festival Coordinator, at (206) 240-5561.

The Friendshop Pop Up @ West Seattle (Admiral) Library

The FriendShop will be popping up on the front steps of the West Seattle Branch Library Saturday May 21, 2016 from 11:30 am–3:30 pm. The FriendShop Pop Up is a sampling of items from the Central Library gift shop including book totes, mugs and gifts for book lovers. There will also be a selection of children’s previously-read books and adult fiction all for sale at $1 each. Please join us for a book-loving afternoon.

Members will receive two free hard cover fiction books as a member benefit. Renew or join today!
