Twelfth Night Productions is proud to participate in Seattle Celebrates Shakespeare with Twelfth Night.

Set in New Orleans in the 1930s, Twelfth Night is filled with a sense of decadence and drama. The play opens on Olivia in a once wealthy manor house, now on the decline in the absence of her father and brother. On the other side of town is love interest Orsino’s bizarre house, stuffed with icons and symbols of “Ideal Love.” Another, would-be suitor, Malvolio inhabits his own world that needs order and eschews all things modern, including clothing and music.

Into this world comes a strong, earnest, no-nonsense “Pollyanna,” Viola, with her true belief in right and wrong and her basic belief in the goodness of humans.

The play complicates, then wonderfully untangles, these relationships.

Jazz and blues are woven into our version of this timeless story, adding a sexy, dreamy vibe.

This production will be performed at Youngstown Cultural Arts Center, April 13, 14, 20 and 21 at 7:30 pm and April 15 and 22 at 3:00 pm. Tickets are available online at Brown Paper Tickets, and at Youngstown, 4408 Delridge Way SW, an hour before the show on performance days. Prices are $20 for adults and $18 for students & seniors.
