Memoir Class in West Seattle

This coming Valentine’s Day, reach beyond the chocolates and flowers and give someone you love something priceless: the gift of your story.

Join writing teacher Martin Piccoli in a two-part writing workshop focused on crafting a short memoir that celebrates the positive impact someone has had on your life. In this class, you will review the basics of memoir, select and shape a personal story you wish to share, and compose your piece. (Much of your independent writing will be completed in the two weeks between the classes, so, yes, there’s homework.)
When this workshop concludes, you will have a solid draft of your story ready to give a friend, a parent, a sibling, a partner, a spouse (along with those chocolates?)–or to keep just for yourself.
West Seattle resident Martin Piccoli is your host for this event. He’s spent the last 25 years teaching writing in the public schools of Seattle, Columbus, Ohio, and Brooklyn. This year he’s taking time out of the classroom to do some personal writing, and hopes with this workshop he can help you do the same.

This workshop is open to the public, though seating will be limited.
The classes will be held at NEW VENUE – DELRIDGE LIBRARY
The classes run from 4pm – 5:20pm
The first class is on Saturday, January 20.
The second class is on Saturday, February 3.
Please bring something to write with, analog or digital.
For more information, please contact Martin (me!) at martinpiccoli@aol.com.

This event is not sponsored by The Seattle Public Library.
