Returning for it’s 10th year in West Seattle, the Olio Theatrical Troupe will present another evening of music, comedy and dance on Saturday, April 2 at 7:30 pm at the Westside Unitarian Universalist Church.

This year’s show, From Silent to Sound (or…The Director’s Worst Nightmare!), is about a 20’s era movie director who grapples with talentless actors and “modernization” as a fateful call from his producer upends everything he knows and loves about movies: THE “TALKIES” ARE IN! Mayhem and hilarity ensue!

“The Olio Players are a merry band of talented and experienced Seattle area actors, singers, dancers and all around fun people,” says Bert Gulhaugen, the show’s musical director and co-writer with his partner Jerry Halsey. “An ‘olio show’ is a unique genre of musical theater associated with vaudeville, minstrel, burlesque and operetta,” explains Halsey who is also the show’s theatrical director. “It is our goal to revive the spirit of this light-hearted art form in our West Seattle shows.”

Tickets may be purchased at
http://fromsilenttosound.brownpapertickets.com. General admission is $15, with free admission for children under 16. All are invited to enjoy the coffee house/actors reception immediately following the show.
