Nature Consortium is collaborating with United Way of King County by hosting an MLK Day of Service on January 16th, 2017. For this event we are looking for volunteers to help continue the effort in restoring the West Duwamish Greenbelt forest.

In 2016, more than 2,300 volunteers completed 140 projects all over King County for MLK Day of Service. Join with us on MLK Day of Service 2017 at Pigeon Point Park in restoring the West Duwamish Greenbelt. The West Duwamish Greenbelt is the largest contiguous forest within the City of Seattle, extending over 500 acres and providing important ecosystem services to the Duwamish Rivershed. Volunteers will provide a crucial boost to efforts aimed at restoring sites to healthy, diverse forests by planting native plant species and removing invasive plant species.

Activities will begin from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Music, refreshments, tools, and instructions will be provided. All ages and abilities are welcomed as no experience is necessary; families, company groups, clubs, individuals, schools, are encouraged to participate which is why we are reaching out to you.

Please reach out to Caroline Borsenik with the Nature Consortium at caroline@naturec.org or 206.923.0853 Ext 100 about your interest in participating in MLK Day of Service on January 16th at Pigeon Point Park.
