At the High Point Branch: Learn about how the contemporary Native People of the Pacific Northwest are practicing traditions that have been passed down through many generations.

What does it mean for a tradition to be “living?” Engage with cultural objects from our museum and learn about traditions still practiced by contemporary Native Americans of the Pacific Northwest. See how cultural practices can grow and change over time from generation to generation and learn about the diverse Native cultures in Washington State with educators from the Burke Museum. For ages 5 and up.

This program is part of this year’s Summer of Learning program Splash! Adventures with Water, which encourages reading and activities around science, technology, technology, arts and math. We are offering over 250 free youth programs throughout the city this summer. You can pick up a Summer Action Guide at any Library location.

Library events and programs are free and everyone is welcome. Registration is not required.

Space is limited at library events. Please come early to make sure you get a seat. Due to the fire code, we can’t exceed the maximum capacity for our rooms.
