GreenStage 2017 summer season has several free outdoor performances in West Seattle. The season opens July 14 and runs through August 19.

“A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, directed by Erin Day, will be performed on Sunday, Aug 13 @ 3:00 pm at Delridge Playfield.

One of the Bard’s most favored comedies, featuring a crazy night in which star-crossed lovers fight strange spells and unexpected turns before sorting things out.

Director Erin Day is GreenStage’s Artistic Director, who last summer played Mistress Page in our production of The Merry Wives of Windsor. Since moving from Washington, D.C., Erin found a home in GreenStage. She has also performed with Seattle Public Theater, Theatre Babylon, Seattle Fringe Festival, The Washingtonians!, and others. Erin is a member of the Midnite Mystery Players.

GreenStage, Seattle’s Shakespeare in the Park Company, will offer four plays this summer during its 29th year of performing free Shakespeare in Seattle-area parks. The calendar includes full-cast versions of Richard II, directed by Susannah Rose Woods, and of The Comedy of Errors, directed by David Gassner.

In addition, GreenStage will stage two “Backyard Bard” shows; abridged versions of plays running about an hour and using the same for actors in each for all roles. Hamlet and A Midsummer Night’s Dream will be directed by Erin Day.

A full schedule of performances and the cast and crew for each play are on our website. Participating companies are GreenStage, Seattle Shakespeare Company’s Wooden O, Last Leaf Productions, Theater Schmeater, The 14/48 Projects, Freehold Theatre, Jet City Improv, Young Shakespeare Workshop, and Shakespeare Northwest.
