Join the Family Resource Center on Tuesdays from 10:30-11:30 for our free Enrichment programs offered in partnership with the Woodland Park Zoo, Seattle Art Museum, Seattle Aquarium, Seattle Children’s Theatre, and Seattle Parks and Recreation Department. Programs are designed for children 3 to 5 years old, however children of all ages are welcome to attend with their parents or caregivers.

On Tuesday, January 30th the Seattle Aquarium will offer the option of two workshops for children to attend: “Ocean Animals” and “Seals, Whales, and Otters”. The maximum number of students per workshop is 25. If you are interested in reserving a space please call ahead; otherwise, spaces will be assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Workshop descriptions:

Ocean Animals:

What is an animal without a backbone? Learn about some of our Puget Sound invertebrates such as crabs, mussels and sea stars. Games, puppets, songs and discussions help students explore the names, locomotion and habitats of these animals.

Seals, Whales, and Otters:

What makes a whale a marine mammal? Explore the characteristics of marine mammals with hands-on opportunities to handle pelts, bones, and teeth. Other activities include making marine mammal rubbings and creative dramatics.
