What’s in the works at the ex-Beveridge Place Pub

Next door to the now-shuttered Corner Inn in Morgan Junction, some have noticed work under way at the former Beveridge Place Pub site. A permit has just been issued for some preliminary work, so we called the person listed as the project contact to find out what’s up: Paul Larkin tells WSB that he and West Seattle residents Jeff Gilbert and Matt Johnson are opening a “21-and-over restaurant and lounge,” hoping to be up and running in three to four months.

Hellz yeah! two of my favorite people in the world opening a bar- which serves alcohol- my favorite liquid in the world! :D Yay for you, Jeff and Matt! I can’t wait! :D

Cool, looking forward to it opening! Jeff Gilbert used to be my neighbor on Alki. He canceled my wedding for me due to a mis-routed item of mail from the chapel where I was marrying another Jeff Gilbert. Looking forward to seeing the ‘other’ Jeff Gilbert again. LOL!

Not sure about 2 and 3 but writer, yes – co-publisher Patrick was quite a follower of some of his work.

BRAIN PAIN with Jeff Gilbert on KCMU 90.3 fm was the best. 4 hours of Slayer, Entombed, Corrosion of Conformity, Motorhead, and Zippy’s band The Accused!

Is this the Matt Johnson/Skateboarder? If so…coool. Great guy.

Can’t help but wonder tho, if the Corner In goes into the ground and a new bldg goes in, what happens to the old Bev Place bldg? Aren’t they pretty much attached?

I am sure I will love this place after seeing The Accused referenced!

Great to see that this space will be fixed up and not demolished for condos/townhomes, but I can’t help but not comment that it seems that a majority of “new” places going in are for the “21 & Over” crowd. What about all-ages places like Elliott Bay Brewery? I’d like to see more places like that open.

I can’t wait, Matt. I’m so excited for you!

Man Splat HQ! And just a few blocks from home! When I saw the Corner Inn was out-of-Business, I was afraid we’d lost another veteran drinker’s hole. Couldn’t have asked for or even imagined a better replacement!

8 posts before the mandatory “we-need-more-family-places-like-Elliott-Bay” post. There are PLENTY of places that aren’t 21 and up. I don’t undestand why families have such a hard time finding a place to eat out.
    .
Here’s a nice list. The vast majority are not 21 and up. I’m sure you can find somewhere to go with the kids while I’m relaxing at the lounge:

Hey. I hope it’s Jeff G/KCMU Brain Pain fame. One of a kind. If so… hopefully live music’s on the menu! Best of luck, guys! Tymber

Sorry, comment time is over.
