Admiral Theater website’s back up

For those who e-mailed us, worried because it had gone to a “parking page” for a few days – the Admiral’s site is back, with current movies (plus details on the upcoming John Keawe concert), at admiral-theater.com.

Still doesn’t come up (Sunday morning).
Know anything about the new management? Went last night and there is a signing saying CASH ONLY – under new management.

Working now … Re: the new management thing, we’re looking into that one after seeing it on the marquee the other day. The guy we talked to in person at the Admiral as recently as last Wednesday is the same guy who’s been running it for more than a few months. When was the previous time you’d gone, prior to last night?

The person you spoke with was let go the next day. That’s all I can say at this point.

Guess my Tuesday morning interview is canceled then.

Hey, Horton Hears a Who! I’ve got to get up there and see that.
    .
As for the rest of it, well, did someone sneak in and steal all the good movies while no one was looking? Among the local fare, I might not have to be dragged off kicking to see Roman de Gare, Son of Rambow, Young at Heart, etc.

Does anyone know if it is under new management? And if so, are they still planning on installing new seats? I did the whole “purchase a nameplate on a new seat” and never received my free tickets. I called and they said they would be sent out soon but that was months ago. I just want to know if my $40 will really be used for a new seat.

Apparently there has been some kind of change. A person identifying herself as its new “booker/promoter” posted in the forum over the weekend. I have a message out to her via e-mail (and also in the forum thread) asking for more information about the management change. Have not received a response yet, will post a report when we do. We’ll be sure to ask about that, as well.

Guess we’re not alone… Pal and I both donated $40 to assist with seats. Never received the movie passes supposed to be paired with that and of course no seats installed that we know. We’ve called a good 5 times about it and each time they said they’re on the way in a week or so. Many many months ago. I’m feelin scammed.

We interviewed the theater’s new operator by phone today and will be posting a two-part report in the hours to come.

Sounds like Steve Garret is gone and so is my money for the seats….rip-off

Sorry, comment time is over.
