The Boxwell / Feldman /Johns group is a Seattle-based jazz band made up of guitarist Owen Boxwell, bassist Ben Feldman, and saxophonist Xander Johns. The group is often joined by other students from the award-winning Garfield and Roosevelt High School jazz bands. The band’s style is based on interaction and spontaneity, influenced by the music of Bill Evans, Charles Mingus, John Coltrane, and others. They play a variety of standards, original compositions, and lesser-known tunes by old and modern jazz composers.
