On Saturday, October 17, 2015, 3–4:30 pm, come to the West Seattle (Admiral) Library:

In this workshop taught by Ann Teplick, we will write it flash, write it quick, write stories that have fewer than 1000 words. Registration is required.

We will focus on concision, crisp imagery, and twist, because the bear’s in the kitchen, and we’ve got to get out! Our sources of inspiration will include Richard Brautigan, Barry Yourgrau, and Stace Budzko.

Instructor Ann Teplick is a Seattle poet, playwright and prose writer. She has an MFA in creative writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts. She has taught writing in many venues including Hugo House, hospitals, schools, and City Hall. She has received funding from Artist Trust, Seattle Office of Arts and Culture, 4Culture, and The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. She is currently working on a collection of poems, called Snapped into Fractions.

Registration required. Online registration for this class opens on August 10 and closes on October 13 at 9 a.m. Class is limited to 28 patrons. After online registration closes, call the branch to sign up or make changes to existing registration.

Seattle Writes supports local writers through programs, workshops, write-ins, and by providing spaces to work throughout the city. The Seattle Writes series is made possible with the generous support of The Seattle Public Library Foundation.

Space is limited at library events. Please come early to make sure you get a seat. Due to the fire code, we can’t exceed the maximum capacity for our rooms.
