Council to take public testimony on potential ballot measure to fund
transit and roads

The Metropolitan King County Council will hold a special evening meeting on TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 4 to hear from the public on a possible ballot measure to maintain the current service levels of transit service and to fund the maintenance of local roads and transportation infrastructure.

Tuesday, February 4
5:30 pm sign in begins
6:00 pm public testimony
Union Station, Ruth Fisher Board Room
401 South Jackson Street, Seattle

Earlier this month the County Executive sent to the County Council a proposal to create a Transportation Benefit District (TBD) that could ask voters to approve a tax measure that would support maintaining Metro Transit bus service levels and fund the maintenance of local roads in King County.

This will be the only NIGHT meeting where the public will have to the opportunity to comment on the creation of the TBD and the potential vote from the TBD to place a tax measure on the ballot. The Council will take further public comment, and is expected to take action on either proposed Ordinance 2013-0526 or 2013-0527 at its regular meeting on February 10, 2014 at 1:30 pm.

For those individuals coming to testify that need special accommodations, please contact Anne Noris, Clerk of the Council, at 206-477-1024.
