Tuesday March 19, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. there will be a presentation at the Southwest Library by Georgie Bright Kunkel, referring to the book UNBROKEN by Laura Hillenbrand. There will be a special focus on Georgie’s brother Norman Bright, the noted track star from the 1930’s who was a track friend of Louis Zamperini who was written up in the book Unbroken. Following the presentation there will be a discussion.
Hillenbrand interviewed Georgie in preparation for completing her book. Many people may remember Norman Bright running around Green Lake even after he became blind. He would have to find runners to lead him and often he could not find even younger runners who could run as fast as he could. There is a bench on Green Lake shore with a plaque dedicated to Norman Bright who spent so many hours running there.
Space is limited so come early to assure you can be included in this presentation and discussion.
