Repeats: Weekly on Tuesday and Saturday - forever

The West Duwamish Greenbelt needs you! Volunteer with Nature Consortium and help restore vital habitat in Seattle’s largest remaining forest. Volunteers are needed to help remove invasive plant species, mulch, clean up litter, and plant native trees and shrubs.

Nature Consortium hosts volunteer restoration work parties year round. Currently we are working Tuesdays and Saturdays from 10 am-2 pm in the West Duwamish Greenbelt located in West Seattle. Come experience some fun in the forest as we engage in hands-on conservation work.

We provide tools, gloves, and all the training you need to get started. Each work party begins with a short informal forest ecology workshop. Volunteers can expect to pitch in for a variety of restoration activities including removing invasive plants, mulching, and forest maintenance. Planting occurs October-March, and summer months also include forest monitoring.

We blend art and nature in everything that we do. Performing artists “play in the woods” during many of our work parties, and include singers and instrumentalists. Learn more and sign up today at www.naturec.org/volunteer.

  1. We did not find any confirmation on the Nature Consortium’s web site that tomorrow’s event will indeed take place. Nor did we reach anyone who could confirm that there would be a work party. I hope someone can provide confirmation: yes or no and the location for tomorrow’s work party in WS. Thank you.

  2. Hi, glad to see somebody take an interest in this type of listing :) This is a standing listing and once in a while the organizations that send us these standing listings deviate from the plan – looks like they have a picnic tomorrow for sure:
