“Dirty Coal: The Toxic Addiction” movie night Monday, January 7th at 6:30 pm in the Pastoral Center of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. From the announcement:
Washington is considering allowing a new coal terminal to be built near Bellingham. If this happens, the mile-and-a-half-long uncovered trains will travel through Seattle near our neighborhood, disrupting commutes and polluting our harbors, fishing grounds and communities, especially our poorer communities. The coal, destined to be burned in China, will return to our communities over the ocean through polluted air and water, causing an increase in childhood asthma, cancer, infant mortality, and toxic exposure.
To learn more about coal and how you can advocate for our community and environment, attend our screening of “Dirty Coal: The Toxic Addiction” on Monday, January 7th at 6:30 pm in the Pastoral Center of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church (7000 35th Ave SW). Jessie Dye from Earth Ministries will also be in attendance to answer questions and help us make our voices heard.
