Kierkegaard Bicentennial Celebration
at First Lutheran Church of West Seattle
November 17, 2013, 9 am to 1 pm

Scheudle of events includes:
[1] Pastor Marshall’s lecture on Kierkegaard’s Engagement to Regine Olson (9 am),

[2] an Aria from Bach’s Cantata (BMV 183) for tenor, cello and organ (10:25 am),

[3] worship service to include new music: a Josh Deutsch Fugue on a few of
Kierkegaard’s word from his book /Christian Discourses/ (1848), a new hymn tune by Carl Schalk for Kierkegaard’s favorite hymn (10:30 am),

[4] the dedication of the new bronze Kierkegaard statue by Rita Marie Kepner, with the reading of the new homage to Kierkegaard by the poet, Dana Gioia — former head of the NEA (11:45am),

[5] reception with Scandinavian Nordiska folk dancers, pastries, commemorative coffee mugs, and the book signing party for Pastor Marshall’s new book, “Kierkegaard for the Church: Essays & Sermons” (Eugene, Oregon: Wifp & Stock, 2013).
