When your veggie bed has been pulled for the season, and you have planted in all of your winter vegetables, it is time for cover crop in all of your open spaces. Cover crops keep your soil active during the off season, and will hold vital nutrients in the bed while the rains fall, leaching minerals from the exposed soil.

There are not only several types of cover crop, but there are a few techniques that you might want to employ for your own garden.
