At Salty’s on Alki (WSB sponsor):

Come learn how to dance Zydeco on our waterfront patio at Salty’s on Alki Beach and enjoy a cocktail with New Orleans-inspired appetizers by Chef Levi Palli. Zydeco music is hard-driving and playful with elements of Cajun, Blues, Rock ‘n’ Roll and Afro-Caribbean rhythms. The dance allows for both great connection and inspired individual play and freedom. There’s a good reason this dance is popular from coast to coast! Dance for Joy partner dance instruction on Tuesday, June 23. We’ll begin with the basics of both open and closed position for the hot SW Louisiana two-step dance called Zydeco and then build on, adding moves and styling. If you’ve been to the French Quarter in New Orleans, you’ve heard this infectious music. Come with a friend or a mate or alone. To really enjoy this evening we recommend flat shoes that stay on your feet and slide on the floor! No partner or experience required for a great time!
