Introduction to Canning Series: Jams and Syrups

Summer is in full swing, and fruit is plentiful. Come learn how to preserve the taste of summer in this class focusing on jams and fruit syrups. We’ll be making a peach jam and a blackberry pancake syrup, and talking about the best ways to preserve all your other favorite fruits. You will learn all the basics of the hot-water bath canning method, and get to take home a few jars of what we make.

INTRODUCTION TO CANNING SERIES: SALSAS AND SAUCES

Tomatoes! Tomatoes! Tomatoes! Always wanted to learn how to can tomatoes? This class is just for you. We’ll be canning tomato sauce and salsa, and learning about all the other ways to preserve tomatoes for the dreary winter. You will learn all the basics of the hot-water bath canning method, and get to take home a few jars of what we make.

Introduction to Canning Series: Pickles

Homemade pickles are one of the easiest and most delicious ways to start canning veggies! We will be making the ubiquitous cucumber pickle, and a dilly green bean pickle, as well as discussing ways to pickle the excess produce in your garden or from the market. You will learn all the basics of the hot-water bath canning method, and get to take home a few jars of what we make.
