On Wednesday, April 24th, Puget Sound Blood Center will be at Evergreen campus (in the multi-purpose room off the gym) for blood donations. It’s quick, easy and painless. Donation times are from 8 am to 2 pm (closed 10:00-10:45 am).
Blood drives are open to the public. Donations are always needed, but especially this time of year.

You know, I used to give blood 3 -4 times a year. Then I realized that I had to lie to do it – I HAVE had sexual relations with a man who has had sex with another man since 1973 or whatever the year is. I know my HIV status (negative), and spend more time protecting myself and my loved ones from STD infections than most “straight” people.
I cannot give blood because of a set of rules that no longer apply when the demographics of infection are considered accurately.
Please work to change this rule. My blood is needed.

The Puget Sound Blood Center has been working to change the rule – we’ve discussed it in other comment threads and I will go find the link.
