From reports on cases handled recently by Southwest Precinct officers:
*Near 12th and Holden early Sunday, a young man let fly with an egg. He realized too late that the target coming around the corner was a police vehicle. The 13-year-old was taken to the precinct and eventually released to his mother. The officer spent 30 minutes scrubbing egg from the squad car.

*Late last Friday, two officers drove by 27th and Kenyon just in time to see an “armed arm” emerge from a parked car and fire several shots into the air. Both driver and passenger were quickly apprehended and cuffed. Two casings were found in the area, and officers confiscated a loaded pistol and magazine that were in plain view on the floor of the car. The passenger, a 30-year-old with convictions for domestic violence assault, was carrying two loaded magazines in his front pants pocket. He was booked into King County Jail for investigation of unlawful possession of a firearm. The 21-year-old driver was released.
*Alleged street racers fled the scene at 3 a.m. Sunday when an officer arrived to investigate at Highland Park Way and West Marginal. But the man who appeared to be “flagging” the race was held for questioning. The Federal Way resident was carrying a .45 semi-automatic pistol loaded with 11 rounds (the first four being hollow-points). He did have a concealed weapons permit. As his car was partially blocking the street, the officer had it towed. He was not booked but faces investigation of pedestrian interference and a traffic violation for aiding and abetting. He was released from the Southwest Precinct and told how to retrieve both his car and his ammunition.
*A 46-year-old Monroe resident was booked into King County Jail early last Saturday after a Seattle Schools security officer saw him trying to steal copper wire at the former Boren Middle School. The suspect tried to hide in a crawl space but came out quickly when confronted by a K9 officer’s four-legged friend. A bag of suspected stolen goods was also found in the vicinity.
*It Takes a (philosophical and illiterate) Thief: Whoever stole 20 feet of generator cable from a Delridge business on Monday left a graffiti message behind, bemoaning: “It’s a krupt nation.”
