TRAFFIC/TRANSIT TODAY: Mid-September Monday

(WS bridge and Highway 99 views; more cams on the WSB Traffic page)
Good morning! No traffic alerts at the moment, so we start the week with a look ahead:

HIGHWAY 99 CLOSURES: Every night this week, some stretch of 99 north of the West Seattle Bridge will be partly or fully closed. Tonight (Monday night-Tuesday morning), lane closures are expected between here and Atlantic St. in the stadium zone, both directions, 9 pm-5 am, and the exit to 99 from the eastbound West Seattle Bridge will also be closed.

EAST MARGINAL WAY PAVING THIS WEEK: In case you missed the announcement toward the end of last week, work on this stretch north of the West Seattle Bridge is expected Wednesday-Thursday.

I’m on Avalon, and hearing a helicopter overhead. Pretty much the sound you want to hear as you prep for your Monday commute. :(

I was on my lunch break in WS, headed back to work and took the Spokane St exit to 1st Ave and what did I see?! SDOT re-painting lines in the middle of the work day along 1st Ave heading North from Spokane St – BRILLIANT IDEA! How about you do this type of work at night, just a rational thought. #SDotFail
