West Seattle Crime Watch: Stolen business truck to watch for

Another stolen-vehicle report this morning – this time on the west side of The Junction – and this one should be very recognizable. From Adam at Clean Air Lawn Care (WSB sponsor):

We just realized that one of the trucks that we use for our business was stolen overnight. It’s a 2013 White Chevy Silverado 1500, license plate number B08424Y. The kicker is, the truck is logoed with Clean Air Lawn Care all over the sides and back, including our phone number 206-941-4180 and website www.cleanairlawncareseattle.com. If anyone sees this truck, can you please call us or the police immediately.

Thank you for posting this. Hoping that we can find the truck and that it is in one piece.

Seriously?? Sorry that happened Adam. You guys were just at our place last night and did an amazing job as always. I hope you get the truck back ASAP and in one piece.

If you mean the map at http://web6.seattle.gov/mnm/policereports.aspx that’s for the past *week* – I just moused over them all and they date back to 4/17. You can configure that map to show a particular day but you have to do that via the boxes on the left side.

Dangit! Sorry that happened, Adam. I hope it comes back safe and sound.

Hi WSB, yes it is less than I previously stated. In the Crime Watch section 4 of the “auto theft” coded items were actually follow ups from previous days, after going back and rereading as it did seem like a lot.

the construction company i worked for a couple years ago had a logoed truck and a bunch of tools stolen from our fremont yard sometime during the solstice parade.
    .
two weeks later the boss got two tickets from WSDOT because the thieves drove it across the narrows bridge twice without paying. in the first photo ticket, the truck was still logoed. in the second – eastbound – it was not, and the lumber racks were gone. we could only assume that the tools and steel were sold in kitsap county, but by then it was too late for the cops to attempt to track anything.
    .
two weeks after that, KCSO sent the boss a notice that his vehicle had been abandoned in south park, and it had been parked there for two weeks – with the doors unlocked and a key in the ignition. despite my protestations, boss used to stash a spare in the gas flap, and when they went to siphon gas – “well lookee here! a free ride! wonder what’s in that shipping container…”
    .
(cautionary note to small businesses: keep careful inventory of your tools and document serial numbers on each. and – uhh – don’t hide spare keys on site.)
    .
thieves are the lowest, laziest form of human life.
    .
i hope this has a better outcome for you than it did for us, adam. theft can do serious damage to small businesses, even if they’re insured.

Thanks everyone for keeping a lookout for the truck. Luckily no tools or equipment were in the truck when it was stolen. It happened overnight and we are always careful to make sure we take out all equipment and lock it up.

Whereabouts on the “west side of The Junction”? We live in that area, and our vehicle has already been stolen once.

Sorry, I asked on a followup but forgot to add specifics. Near 46th/Alaska.

I saw one of your trucks around 7:25p last night as I was coming home from the gym. Not sure what time it was taken, but I saw one around 7:30pm on California, just north of Thistle (headed S bound on California toward Thistle). It stood out due to the panel on the roof… Not sure if this is the one you’re looking for, but hope it helps in some way.

Sorry, comment time is over.
