West Seattle Crime Watch: Bike, car, game-console thefts

Relatively quiet holiday weekend so far as West Seattle Crime Watch reports went, but we have three things to note so far today – all thefts. Maybe you will be able to help find the stolen property, if not solve the crimes themselves. Read on for the reports (including one mom’s warning/wish for the thief who stole something belonging to her son):

BIKE THEFT: Darlene e-mailed last night after someone broke into their garage in the 2500 block of 56th SW (the garage is on the alley off 55th) and stole her husband’s red 21-speed mountain bike, a gift from a friend. She was reporting it to police even as she wrote.

CAR THEFT: Dayna‘s car was stolen from her apartment building in White Center (1st SW/SW 112th), but she’s asking West Seattleites to be on the lookout too. It was taken sometime between 11 pm Sunday and 11 am Monday, a 1993 dark-green Honda Accord, license AEB9429. Call 911 if you see it.

GAME-CONSOLE THEFT: From Mona:

Someone swiped my kid’s Nintendo 3DS from our car on Friday, November 29, between 5:15 – 6:15 PM in the West Seattle Athletic Club (formerly Allstar Fitness) parking lot. My husband and son came back to the car and found the door ajar and the domelight on. One of the doors had to have been unlocked but it still stings to know that someone stole something that clearly belongs to a child. I hope the thief gets fiery pinkeye because this kid also touches his butt a lot. We already filed a police report.

Both local crime-prevention groups with public meetings (West Seattle Crime Prevention Council and West Seattle Block Watch Captains’ Network) are taking December off. But in case you missed it, we did publish holiday-safety advice from Seattle Police last Wednesday.

“I hope the thief gets fiery pinkeye because this kid also touches his butt a lot.”
