ROAD-WORK ALERT: Repaving ahead for two blocks of Admiral Way SW

Thanks to Chris for forwarding the SDOT notice – two blocks of SW Admiral Way SW are set for repaving over the next two days. This is south/west of Schmitz Park; SDOT repaved a stretch of Admiral north of the park last summer.

Admiral doesn’t need repaving compared to Delridge.

Why does Admiral get all of this attention? Admiral has had more money spent on work and revisions of work than any other major arterial in West Seattle. Admiral also feeds the wealthiest part of West Seattle.

Are the wealthy more deserving? Or are they more vocal? Or more connected.

To be honest I’m a bit confused because admiral doesn’t seem that bad compared to other parts of West Seattle.. my guess is that it just has more people complaining about it so it gets higher priority..

With that said I wouldn’t describe it as a particularly wealthy area.. maybe middle and upper middle class. My brother lives over there.

I was so happy to see they repaved some of the worst parts of sylvan way sw next to Home Depot.. hope they continue with the rest of sylvan way this summer! Anyone know if there’s plans for that? It’s a mess.

Admiral Way SW is a City Street not a road, thus the correct terminology is Street – Work Alert.
