READER REPORT: Something good caught by a porch camera

Megan sent the photo, explaining:

I walked my dog this afternoon and came home to see someone had left a single tulip at my front door. Checked my camera and saw 2 little kids run up, drop it and then run off!

Maybe they are spreading the joys of Spring? Too cute.

How wonderful! Sort of a benign variation of ‘ding-dong ditch’. Bless their little hearts!

That’s what was done on May Basket Day traditionally. Those two little kids must’ve learned that in school today. How sweet!

It was a family tradition to leave flowers on our neighbor’s porches on May Day when we were kids.  I’ve never encountered any other family that did it, it’s nice to know that some still do!

I remember doing this for a neighbor when I was about 8 yrs old (1960’s) the only thing was I picked all the flowers from her yard!

Later that evening her and her husband came by told my Dad what I did and had a basket of candy for me in return.  :>) :>)

We used to do that every May Day when we were little. It was so much fun and I’m sure it brought joy to those who received the flowers.

I used to do this for my Grandma every year. Glad to see it is still carried on, Happy May Day!

We did this in California as kids. You ring the bell and run/hide.

We got “Tulipped” by our neighbor’s kids.  Heard a loud knocked then saw them hauling butt!   We plan on attacking back next year!    Albeit a little slower and we’ll probably pull a hamy trying to get away.

This is a great way to keep May Day positive, celebrate spring time.  I like it.

Sorry, comment time is over.
