Hated reading this, wtf, hope the pedestrian is ok…I’m no teacher but when driving, I make it my priority not to hit people, hope this helps others.

I’m thinking that wasn’t the drivers intention either. Very Insensitive.

Sorry for all involved and hope pedestrian, driver, witnesses recover from such an awful accident…thought California/Admiral was referring to the 4-way lights&crosswalks intersection.

I saw it happen. The pedestrian crossed in the middle of the street with no crosswalk…. I feel sorry for the poor person that hit him accidentally because he wasn’t paying attention. Hope he is ok of course. It looked like a terrible hit.  :(

I saw it too. Pedestrian came out of nowhere, crossed by Luciano’s Pizza… flew in the air. I truly hope he is ok, looked very scary. I got out of my car but more people where already helping so I left (kids were in the car).

I’m sorry that I have to post a reminder that victim-blaming is not cool so please don’t even try to post victim-blaming comments, as some have. We mentioned this incident because it was affecting traffic in the area at the time, not in an attempt to find out who to blame. I’m also writing this because several people have e-mailed us asking if we have any information about the person who was hit because they were in the area at the time and are worried. I’m sorry to say that since we couldn’t get there until almost an hour had passed, we were unable to speak with SPD or SFD, and even when media-relations offices reopen tomorrow, about all I’m likely to be able to find out is that the injured person is x years old and was in x condition when transported. If anyone who sees this knows him and knows how he is doing, please consider e-mailing us (editor@westseattleblog.com) so I can at least e-mail those people back and tell them. Since TCIS wasn’t called out, we can make the extrapolation that his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, so I hope that is the case. Thank you – Tracy

Sorry, comment time is over.
