TRAFFIC ALERT: Myers/Olson stoplight still malfunctioning

4:54 PM: The traffic signal at Myers/Olson/1st, at the east end of the SW Roxbury corridor, is still malfunctioning. We got a report this morning, but when we went to check, SDOT was there, so we figured it would be fixed soon. Nope – as of minutes ago, still flashing. Remember, that means all-way stop.

SUNDAY MORNING UPDATE: Went back to look – still flashing as of quarter past 9.

There was a car that had left the road and ended up in the woods at the NW corner went I drove by this morning.

Someone texted us about that in the afternoon; we couldn’t find it. Don’t know if it was related – there was also a car vs. retaining wall reported around 4th/Roxbury this morning.

Speaking of alternate routes, is there an explanation for why the signs for the exit to the West Seattle Bridge and Harbor Island are missing (for the past two weeks) from southbound 99 ?

Yes, and they will be back soon, according to what a reader has been told by SDOT (look for that story soon). I’ve gotten conflicting reports on how long they’ve been missing, though – months? weeks? We don’t travel 99 enough (due to the nature of our work) to have noticed, but multiple people have asked in the past week.

I think they fell down in the big windstorm in mid-November. I recall commenting on the WSB story about the storm mentioning seeing some of the pieces of the sign on the roadway.

It’s still out, just came through there.

Thanks for the update! While the 10:30 am crew presence indicates it’s on SDOT’s radar, we nonetheless tagged them on twitter earlier this evening and they said the Signals section would be contacted …

    Back operating now.

Thanks! Can’t get over there now but we’ll check in the evening to see if that lasts…

Sorry, comment time is over.
