WEST SEATTLE WEATHER: Burn ban ending

The Puget Sound Clean Air Agency says the burn ban in King County (and Snohomish too, if you’re keeping track) will end as of 2 pm this afternoon – the air quality is improving and the wind is expected to pick up tonight, to keep pollution in check.

    Kind of interesting that the NWS issued an air stagnation advisory this morning that lasts until Thursday at 2.  It doesn’t contradict the PSCAA notice but does seem a bit at odds.

    * AIR QUALITY...Dry conditions, light winds and poor mixing has
      lead to stagnant conditions in the interior lowlands. Stagnant
      conditions will trap pollutants near the surface which will
      lead to deteriorating air quality.
    
    * TIMING...Through Thursday afternoon.
    
    * MAIN IMPACT...Deteriorating air quality may affect people with
      respiratory issues. Check with your local clean air agencies
      for possible burn bans.
