WEST SEATTLE RESTAURANTS: Opening night for Supreme

When we talked with Chef Mark Fuller and Marjorie Chang Fuller for our recent preview of their new Junction venture Supreme, they were aiming for an opening date of November 12th. Now it’s here – and so is Supreme. We just stopped by their bar-with-New-York-style-pizza-and-pinball joint at 4521 California SW for an opening-night photo. (Note the slushie machines toward the right side, like their north-of-Morgan enterprise New Luck Toy.) The menu is online; Supreme’s hours are (updated) 4 pm-2 am every day.

    suuuuuuuuper excited about this!

if the revamped new luck toy and ma’ono are anything to base one’s opinions on, supreme (despite being yet another pizza place here in west seattle) could be the winningest pizza of all.

Ouch! That’s not a lot of options between a slice and a one size fits all pie. And not a ton of vegetarian specialty options for a place in Seattle. I’ve been wondering about this place so I’m looking forward to trying it but hopefully as time goes on they refine the menu a bit to appeal to a broader audience.

Will be fun to try, but hoping they tweak their offerings  a bit if they get more feedback.  A little more creativity would be great. Ditto on the vegetarian options that CAM stated. Not a vegetarian personally, but some in our household are. Lots of pizza in WS, so we wish them luck, of course.

Take out? New luck order ahead take out didn’t materialize…

that bar looks full of people, so I’m guessing that there are people who don’t mind another pizza place ;-) I’d give it a try when the kinks are worked out… TR, the weekend  open times are 10am-2am, not 2PM…hehehe…pizza for breakfast AND late night snack  :)

Now it’s 4 pm-2 am 7 days a week per their newest Instagram update.

Curious, but typically places that claim to have NY pizza, don’t.

We went this evening. I want to love it!

They’ve still got some kinks to work out. They were very nice, but struggling a bit to keep up.

Slices were tasty, but a whole lot of crust vs pie. And somewhat burnt.

As a long-time server in years past, it kills me to have great service all night, and then at the end to ask for your check and wait 20 minutes before you can get your credit card and leave.

Thanks for the report, Seth! I was hoping we’d hear from someone who stopped in on Night 1. Re: “burnt” … they did tell us during our interview last month that they intended the crust to have some “char.” FWIW, since you mention it. – TR

Crust actually sounds good if it was thin.

With regard to the limited menu – I believe the owners have said before that the food is not the focal point of the place. It is a bar first and foremost. Kudos to them for sticking to their business model and not trying to please everyone.

Indeed – a bar with pizza, as New Luck Toy is a bar with Chinese food. For the person who asked about takeout, the ChowNow link is on the website and does appear to offer “pickup” options. (Small datapoint, their online addresses stress the “bar” point by both being dot-bar – http://www.supreme.bar and http://newlucktoy.bar ) – TR

Waited 10 min just to be helped at bar. Asked for 3 slices to eat at bar,  waited another 10 for slices. Not ny pizza but delish for what it was.

But is it kid friendly?  Tongue firmly in cheek!

    • WSB November 13, 2017 (8:21 pm)

Less then a week after opening we hit it up on a Wednesday night. Great service and great pizza. The crust….oh my goodness. The slushy drinks, on point. Nice to see Mark there making the rounds.

Sorry, comment time is over.
