My wife and I toured the junction businesses to support our local community. I was hanging out in Jan’s Beauty Supply while my wife shopping there. Two customers back to back hit the register within 10 minutes. Both were told that by the checker that she had forgot to discount the 20% for small business day but they could redeem it with store credit. It seemed odd to me that by 3pm the checker would forget something like this back to back. Another viewpoint is it was an intentional way to ensure customers had to return. If that’s the case it’s pretty sleazy.

What did the management say when you called this to their attention? Our rules about posting business complaints is that you have to have brought it to their attention – an online post shouldn’t be the first they’d heard about the problem.

A good policy. The second customer was my wife. She said what transpired after we had already left the store. I told her that’s exactly what happened to the customer that was at the counter before her. It’s plausible that the checker made the same error twice. I wasn’t standing there when it happened to her though and I wasn’t interested in driving back there at that point.

Love the iridescent feathers on the h’bird! And the bird fits right in with the “small” theme.

Thank you for noticing. Sometimes there’s subtle synergy …
