FOLLOWUP: Plaque dedication for LouAnne Rundall Library at Highland Park Elementary

More library news! Thanks to Melinda Jankord-Steedman for the video! Two months after the Highland Park Elementary library was officially named in honor of longtime volunteer LouAnne Rundall, a plaque was unveiled today, displaying the new name over the library entrance. She was there for the short ceremony in her honor – as she has been for so many days in the past 45 years! – led by principal Chris Cronas, with HPE librarian Chris Robert (who uncovered the plaque).

I used to coach a lot of youth sports and had the pleasure of knowing her while coaching her son. She is a great and very sweet person.

I worked at HP Elementary for a couple of years in the early 2000s as a Para-Educator and I have very warm feelings about my memories working with LouAnne. When I was there, she had experienced and endured a family tragedy. She grieved with the HP community and I think it brought us all closer. I am so happy to see that her hard work and dedication is being celebrated. Cheers, LouAnne! Thanks for being one of those people I feel great thinking about as part of my life journey. Here’s to the years ahead!
