WEST SEATTLE WEATHER: Sandbags show up

Thanks to the texter who sent that photo of sandbags outside Delridge Community Center, a traditional pickup spot for those who live in flood-prone areas of West Seattle – particularly along nearby Longfellow Creek (which flooded in a big way 10 years ago). Meantime, the approaching storm now looks to be the rainiest on Wednesday and Thursday, so you have a little more time to clear your storm drain(s) and take other preparatory steps.

Thanks WSB for such a great service to west seattle, worth mentioning and being super aware of is these same storm drains along our streets here in West Seattle aswell as this entire region drain into natural local creeks and directly also into puget sound unfortunately almost all is unfiltered that’s why it’s important to try and pick up litter while out and about in Seattle and the puget sound area. Otherwise if it’s on the ground it’s in the sound, once it’s in Puget Sound getting it out becomes very difficult.

Sorry, comment time is over.
