BIZNOTE: Peel & Press celebrating 3rd anniversary Friday-Sunday with gifts for West Seattle Food Bank

The next West Seattle business to mark its anniversary by giving gifts instead of receiving them is Peel & Press (WSB sponsor) in Morgan Junction. The announcement is from the always-community-minded proprietor Dan Austin:

We are so thankful for all of the support that West Seattle has shown Peel & Press the last three years. Building up this restaurant with the help of many fantastic employees has been incredibly rewarding. We feel blessed to be embraced by our community and to be shown so much love and encouragement. We recognize that earning your support is more than providing great food, drinks, and during service every visit, but is also giving back. During our Three-Year Anniversary Weekend (October 27-29th) we will be giving back 10% of our sales to the West Seattle Food Bank in the form of turkeys and chickens. Last year we did this for one day and were able to buy a quarter-ton of turkeys and chickens. Let’s see what we can do with a whole weekend to provide a great holiday meal for those in need!

Peel & Press is at 6503 California SW – see its hours here.

The most confusing  business name, and the most confusing  sign I   see every day.  I would love to eat here.  What kind of food is it?  I love that you are a part of the community.   I have no idea until now what that sign said, and still have no idea what type of food you serve?  I am being honest and not mean.  I eat everywhere in West Seattle, and have lived here for 30 years.  I want to come and support you:-)

Menus are linked from the P&P website. Pizza and more. While we are out covering things most nights and so don’t get to go to dinner much, we can vouch for their brunch! The name was explained in this story we published just before P&P opened. – TR

Pizza, Pasta and fresh pressed juice cocktails.  Yes, the sign looked good as a smaller image and not as good as a giant sign.  We keep wanting to replace it but business is good inspite of its readability.  I aways struggle with spending the money to replace it because it would take away from money we donate to charities and other organizations. With my new bar now open in Burien I might final be able to pull the trigger on the sign.  Sorry it has kept you from hearing about us but we hope to see you soon!

Thanks Dan for all of your support for the West Seattle Food Bank. I remember shortly after you opened I called to seek your support for a food bank project. I had not even finished my asking the question and you interrupted me and said yes. Here is to many more successful years in this great community partnership.

Peel and Press makes some of the best gluten free pizza I’ve ever had! It’s nice to know we’re supporting a business that gives back to the community in such practical ways.

Peel and Press makes THE BEST BEST BEST crabcakes I have ever had. That and a Caesar salad and a glass of wine…bliss!

I swore to myself that I would never set foot in Peel & Press after Abbondanza closed there several years back. A friend of my dragged me there one time, and I was pleasantly surprised. They are just as good, or if not better than Abbondanza was.  Not sure if I spelled that correctly!

Okay, I’m sold!!!  I’m coming, now I know.  Thanks for being great to our community.  I want to support those that support others!!!

Dan, you are the BEST partner to the West Seattle Food Bank.  We love you for all you do for us.  Happy Anniversary and thank you for everything you do.  BTW I totally agree with Earlybird, best Gluten Free Pizza in West Seattle and maybe Seattle (I just try and stay in West Seattle).

Sorry, comment time is over.
