Exciting end to the school day for students (and staff!) at Sanislo Elementary on Wednesday. Sanislo was one of four schools in the region chosen by the Seattle Mariners for the 20th annual DREAM Team Assemblies. More photos and video ahead:

Players Robinson Canó, Steve Cishek, Chase De Jong, Jarrod Dyson, Ben Gamel, Taylor Motter, and Kyle Seager visited Sanislo for the assembly, stressing the DREAM principles: “Drug-free, Respect for yourself and others, Education through reading, Attitude, Motivation to achieve your dreams.” Dyson explained the “attitude” part of it:

Canó urged respect for teachers and for learning:

This is the 20th year of the DREAM Team assembly visits. Past West Seattle stops have included WS Elementary in 2013, Gatewood in 2012, and Alki in 2010.

Other groups of Mariners visited schools in Burien, Kent, and Montlake. The team then went on to beat Oakland at Safeco Field last night, 4-0; tonight they host the Chicago White Sox at 7:10 pm.
