UPDATE: Water break @ 18th/Thistle

7:29 AM: Texter reports, “Water is pouring out of a manhole cover and into the street at 18th Avenue SW and SW Thistle Street (northeast corner).” Could be extra-dangerous since the temperature is still below freezing, so we wanted to let you know. They’re reporting it to Seattle Public Utilities (206-386-1800). We’ll check on it a bit later.

10:25 AM: As pointed out in comments, an SPU crew is at the scene, and some neighbors are without water; we just went by for a photo. 18th SW is closed north of Thistle.

We live a block away and have no water. SPU is currently estimating 3-4 hours to repair the main and restore service…depending on the severity of the break of course.

An SPU crew has been on the scene digging and jackhammering from about 8:30 this morning. Water service is disrupted.

We have our water back (on 18th between Cloverdale and Trenton) but it’s running brown.

Our water is off and we lived across the street from westwood village.

Our water is on, but still running brown… we’re at 18th and Trenton.

We’ve still got brown water – any word from the water company on what we should be doing about that?

Please call SPU to let them know. That same number – 206-386-1800.

Wow….I live at 41st and Brandon.  This might be why my water was a light brown this morning???

Not likely to have been related miles away. Do call if you EVER get discolored water – same number, 206-386-1800.

Sorry, comment time is over.
