West Seattle Crime Watch: Stolen trailer; stolen bicycle; car prowl; found items; possible gunshots

Five reports in West Seattle Crime Watch tonight:

STOLEN TRAILER: Reported tonight by Darren:

My trailer was stolen today, 11/21/16, between 9:30 am and 4:30 pm from in front of the house on Belvidere. Someone cut the lock off and drove away with it.

Continental enclosed grey/silver tandem axel trailer. License 5363YR.

(added) If you have any info, Darren is at 425-407-2052; the SPD incident number is 2016-421687.

STOLEN BICYCLE: From Antonio:

A Red Sterling FcCarlight bicycle was stolen from 11/18 through 11/21 at 4550 38th Ave SW, across the street from Lien Animal Clinic:

The owner’s contact information is: 206-578-0274, call or text

CAR PROWL: Kerry got hit: “Just wanted to report that our car was prowled last night (110th and 36th in Arbor Heights), and the thieves had an attempted spending spree up Roxbury soon after.” Kerry’s “kicking myself” for “the car having been unlocked AND having left my wallet and two jackets in said unlocked car,” and was planning to check with Roxbury Safeway and 76, since the attempted spending/withdrawals were all time-stamped.

FOUND ITEMS: Sunny spotted these items, apparently dumped (so, likely stolen) tonight on Pigeon Point:

Not optimal light for a photo but here’s what Sunny noted: “Two bikes (or what’s left of them), a printer, some sort of box, and possibly a pressure washer or paint sprayer?” Recognize any of it? Let us know.

POSSIBLE GUNSHOTS: We received two messages around 8:20 about possible gunshots heard in High Point. We have not heard of any verification of gunfire – no victim, at least. As always, please call 911 if you think you hear shots, even if you didn’t see anything, even if you’re not sure where the noise might be coming from you … those calls help police at least figure out where to look.

Shots were fired at Walgreens. Seems to be a punk shooting in the air.

I saw those items at the bottom of the staircase in Pigoen Point on my way home last night. I thought they were just dumped since we seem to see that a lot here.

I saw a white male about 35 yrs old, short clean haircut, short beard, backing up to that trailer yesterday afternoon. Black Dodge Dakota, probably 10 years old, 4 doors I think. Truck sat low to the ground, not lifted.

Jim, is there anything else you can recall? Anything distinguishing to the truck or stickers, damage, ect.

Whenever there is a successful theft, the criminals return to the neighborhood looking to score again.  Get wheel locks $30+ on Amazon, put padlocks on gates, secure basement windows, put everything away (they check out your barbeques, and furniture to see if your a toolie or techie so maybe you have something easy to sell) especially your vehicles.   Plant roses, barberry & firethorn on perimeter and under windows.  Put timers on radios.  I’m thinking of a door cam, a little pricey, but the cost and inconvenience of burglary repair  would outweigh the investment.   An ounce of prevention equals a lb of cure.   I managed a downtown property and we had to epoxy, screw down, fabricate pretty gates and shutters, unbreakable windows, because they just kept coming at us, and the losses and drama were killing us.

Sorry, comment time is over.
