Emmick Family Funeral Services: Welcome, new WSB sponsor

Today we welcome a new WSB sponsor, Emmick Family Funeral Services. Here’s what they would like you to know about what their business can do for you:

emmicks-1
(Craig Emmick, Michael Emmick, Gayle Emmick)

Emmick Family Funeral Services is a fully licensed provider, specializing in cremation and burial services. Personalized service is what sets them apart – your loved one never leaves their care, as there is no part of the process that’s outsourced. They can help with any request, whether a full formal funeral or a small service – you can trust them to give their full attention to every detail of every burial or cremation.

Since Emmick Family Funeral Services is a small, local, family-owned company, their costs are lower, and they invite you to contact them for funeral planning. In our state, funeral plans and services are transferrable, so even if your loved one passes away in another part of the state, they can work with you here to take care of all the arrangements.

The Emmicks have deep West Seattle ties. Craig and Gayle, who grew up in Burien, have raised their kids here. Craig Emmick has been in this business for more than 30 years and is past president of the King County Funeral Directors Association. Michael worked for Howden-Kennedy before he and his dad opened Emmick Family Funeral Services. Craig and Michael are members of the West Seattle Lions Club and volunteers for the Southwest Seattle Historical Society; Emmick Family Funeral Services also belongs to the West Seattle Chamber of Commerce. They know West Seattle well and believe they are positioned to provide the best care when the time comes for it.

Emmick Family Funeral Services is at 3243 California SW, 206-935-2207, and online at emmickfunerals.com.

We thank Emmick Family Funeral Services for sponsoring independent, community-collaborative neighborhood news via WSB; find our current sponsor team listed in directory format here, and find info on joining the team by going here.

They’ve been dying to get the opportunity to become a sponsor.

This is a very nice family who are extremely community oriented.  Buck up, Adam, everybody meets the same end.  Your family should be fortunate enough to have such a kind business help with the final details when you get there.

Though I am well-known for being relatively humorless, I smiled at that one because, well, we should probably all regard death with a little more humor, given how funny it is that life is so serious despite the fact we don’t get out alive … Anyway, we are glad to have the Emmicks on the sponsor team. – TR

Similar to the old joke about cemeteries. Ya know, everybody’s dying to get in. Has everyone lost their sense of humor? Or at least some?

We used Emmick Family Funeral home when a loved one passed away earlier this year.  I recommend them very highly.  We worked primarily with Michael, and he was sympathetic and straight-forward during a difficult time.  I looked at a few of the other funeral homes in the area and was disappointed when they tried to upsell me–it felt sleazy.  Emmick Funerals was not like that; they were respectful and didn’t try to pressure us into services that we did not need.  They are one of a few independent funeral homes in the area and it shows in the level of service they provided.  Michael and family–thank you.

How appropriate to see this on All Souls Day. I’m suspecting that was intentional? If not, then wow.

The Emmicks are the most wonderful, caring  and professional family. I have needed them two times in recent years and without a doubt the best there is.

This company is professional, personable, and treated our loved one with the utmost respect.  I can’t say enough, would not hesitate to use them again (hopefully not anytime soon)   Please support them, they are a family run business, and could use our support!   Support small businesses!

The Emmicks offer a great service. Our family used them last spring when a family member died. They are warm and professional and, as Allison, says, they do not use the nasty high-pressure sales tactics the others do. Very helpful and easy to work with.

Good People doing a GREAT!!! job.  More power to Emmick Family Funeral Service for standing against the hypocritical private and corporate funeral establishments in the Seattle area and their main concern, the bottom line of the financial contract.   They are bringing back the old school meaning of funeral service, caring and understanding, doing what the family wants AND NOT  being pressured to do what they do not want just to pad the amount.  Having worked with both Craig and Michael, I can not say enough good about them.

Sorry, comment time is over.
