I’m so sorry to read this, it’s awful! I hope it is recovered immediately. This happened to my neighbors in our neighborhood which seems to be increasingly targeted by thieves. It is very troubling.

    I am sorry G.

I had my Yukon stolen in the same time frame last Thursday from the 7100 block of 44th.  I go between depression and extreme anger over this.  My car has still not been recovered.  When are we going to get serious as a community about demanding action on property crime?  I respect the police and believe they are understaffed and feel just as helpless as victims do.  They arrest and watch these “people” get released within hours to get right back to stealing.  Come on council! Come on prosecutors!  I work unbelievably hard for everything I have and people can come and steal it with little concern of the consequences because there really are not any!!!!

I understand the despair, P&P. Completely unrelated, but yesterday at the Roxbury Safeway I watched a young man pocket a small item (one of the electric air fresheners, I believe) and head toward the front of the store, presumably to pay for a larger item he was carrying. I yelled at him, “really dude?” He simply turned contemptuously and uttered, “what?” Not a care in the world. He was going to steal and there was not a damn thing I could do about it. I didn’t bother to run after him and see if he stashed the item before paying for the one item he did have, or just run out the door. Either way, that experience stayed with me all day long. Makes me SO DANG MAD the way our society has eroded to the point where shoplifting and petty theft is an every day, every hour event. It’s this kind of creep that would not have thought twice about taking your Yukon. Okay. Rant mostly over. I do think there might be a car ring working our area, based on reports. So sorry it happened to you.

So my friend’s Red F150 was stolen the weekend of 10/22 off of 55th Ave SW.    There certainly is a rash of these going on and it now appears to be a few stolen Red F150s running around.

I’d very much like to hear an accounting regarding the lack of police response to property crimes.    I’d like to understand why officers won’t be dispatched when I report transients camping in their car in front of my house.    Why does it take an hour for police to respond to a drunk raising hell at 3:00 in the morning in my front yard and on my neighbor’s front porch.   Why are community meetings repeatedly cancelled?

My sons all white 1998 jeep grand cherokee was stolen from N.E seattle and there was a very dark colored yukon that had something to do with it,  it was at 3:30 am on Oct.29th…he had craftsman tools and a bunch of brand new motor parts for his jeep. The jeep had temporary plates in the back window due to he only owned it for 2 weeks….if you see it please call 911……
