57 Running ten minutes late.  Looks like the driver is being trained.

Traffic has gotten so much worse, and morning rush “hour” has lengthened by a lot, just over the past 3 months or so.

The lower bridge opened 3 times this morning. Certainly doesn’t help the quality of life issues for West Seattle. Took 62 minutes to commute 3.4 miles to work today. Not as bad as the 148 minutes a few months ago.  Feeling pretty helpless at this point, depressed that it takes so much work to actually get to work. On the way home, I am often blocked by 2 separate trains and the bridge. I just don’t want to do this anymore. So hard to have kids in this town.

    Just miserable these days.

I travel from Pioneer Square to LA Fitness and back every morning. After the viaduct reopened, the traffic on the bridge turned negligible – about 11 minutes home to gym and maybe 15 gym back home. I generally went west about 6:15ish and west about 7:30ish.

Until two weeks ago (start of school?). When the eastward trip home started taking 45 minutes to an hour.

Now I travel westbound at 7:30 am. And I’ve watched and timed the traffic and trips carefully. The eastbound bridge backup at that 7:30 starts at least at Pecos but more often starts at LA Fitness.  Today, I came back at 9:15 am and the backup started at the bottom of that first hill of the bridge. It took me a total of 30 minutes to get to Pioneer Square.

    It’s so frustrating.

Hate to say it, but the only way to avoid bad traffic is to leave before 6:30am.  It used to be 7:00.

Sorry, comment time is over.
