UPDATE: Flipped-car crash south of The Junction

Processed with Snapseed.

10:14 PM: Thanks for the texts – including the photo, from Hugh: What happened in the 5000 block of 42nd SW, just south of The Junction, is only logged as a “motor vehicle incident” but it involves an overturned car.

42ndcar

10:32 PM: SFD left quickly – no one is hurt. Police say one parked car is damaged, in addition to the flipped car, for which they’re awaiting a tow truck. The driver is being given a field-sobriety test.

I know it’s been discussed here before, but honestly, I’m baffled by the number of overturned cars in West Seattle. Maybe it’s no more than in other areas, but still.

That is exactly what I was wondering.

Rocky…has always been my question….hoe do you *DO* that?

      I know I don’t want to find out – 0_o

42nd SW and 41st SW have become speedways over the past year or two, unfortunately this latest flip does not come as much of a surprise. Parking for residents has also become almost impossible over the same time frame.

42nd in that area has traffic circles on both ends.  Then again, WSB frequently reports that car flipping tendency isn’t well correlated with speed.

Like I’ve said before…a car gets any sort of “lift” to one side and that huge magnet under WS streets pulls the car right over onto it’s top! LOL!!!

I hope the driver/passengers if any are OK but if a field sobriety test is being given then the that driver’s pain is just beginning…doesn’t pay to drink and drive.

This was right behind my building.  There were cars parked on both sides of the street, for the entire length of the street.  I just can’t imagine how this could happen.  Physics is pretty damn cool.

Let’s try harder to keep the vehicles dirty side down in West Seattle.

Sorry, comment time is over.
