West Seattle Crime Watch: Roxhill bus-stop police response; 5 reader reports

In West Seattle Crime Watch tonight:

roxhillarrest

ROXHILL BUS STOP RESPONSE: Thanks for the messages about a big police response in the Roxhill bus-stop area across from Westwood Village this past hour. Here’s what SPD told us at the scene: A man tried to hit a Metro bus driver. The driver wasn’t hurt, but the suspect was so intoxicated, he couldn’t stand up, and he’s being taken off by private ambulance to be checked out.

We also have five reader reports:

ALKI VANDALISM: Sometime overnight Friday into Saturday, SU writes, at least three cars in the 1300 block of Alki and vicinity had “small rear windows” bashed in, including this one:

It did not seem to be an attempt to break into the cars, just to damage them, the e-mail says.

ADMIRAL VANDALISM: From Luckie:

This afternoon we discovered that someone had slashed a front tire on one of our cars. The car was parked in our off-street space in the alley, in back of the house. We live near 45th and Hanford, two blocks from where The Great Tire Slashing took place a couple weeks ago, so perhaps the same perpetrators are at it again.

GARGOYLE THEFT: M says, “Sometime last night a gargoyle was taken from my front yard on 34th between Barton and Henderson. It’s an Orc-like guy, crouched, with 10 years of patina. Attached is a similar photo (but with horns, less ears and a snaggle tooth). If anyone sees someone with something like that I”d LOVE to meet them.”

STOLEN HOSES: On Saturday, Danny reports, “a tall late 30s male on cruiser bicycle in bright red t-shirt and yellow trucker cap (was) riding on Alki (at 54th) stealing garden hoses. Just watched him take our neighbor’s and has several more on front of his bike.”

And some good news:

TRUCK FOUND: On Saturday, we published Janice‘s report about the theft of her Toyota Tacoma work truck from the Beach Drive area. Today, she got word it was found – in Tukwila.

That Rapid Ride Transit is one of the worst things to come to Westwood. All it did was help bring the POS here more rapidly. I see so much shady things happening around that area since they put in that hub.

I was going to work Friday morning at 5am that direction and there was some loony lady in the middle of the street high as a kite yelling and swinging her jacket above her head like a cowboy with a lasso.  She wouldn’t let me by as she was cussing at me  and I finally had to go in the wrong lane to get by her. Some people may call the Rapid Ride progress. I call it BS

Well DD look at it this way. At least the Rapid Ride will get the crazies outta that area faster too!

This report actually covered many areas of West Seattle. I think the crazies are everywhere!!

At least 6 or 7 SPD SUVs responded to this.

At first scan I thought I saw “stolen horses”.  Now THAT would be cool.

More Crazies are even downtown.  Was crossing street on crosswalk,

phone in hand (but not looking at it), and a Crazy coming from opposite side

smashed his arms down with full might to  shatter my phone to pieces to middle of street.

Told it to a cop nearby, even pointing out the guy.

Cops answer:  “We don’t do anything, just too many crazies downtown”.

(I still remember, though, ME having paid a fine for walking  across  no traffic street not waiting for green).

Borrowed hose will be returned this morning.

I hope that’s your (somewhat failed) attempt at humor. You don’t borrow things without asking unless you know the owner personally and have come to a prior agreement.

I’m afraid there are too many people now that think that would be okay.

    Well Tony,

This is the current climate of Seattle with a hands off approach to these issues. This is what Seattle asked for and this is what they got

I was at my buddies apartment over the weekend off Avolon way, more like “Frogger Way!” We got into town around 12:30 am I locked my car as usual and as we were waiting in between the two apartments for him to let us in. I tell my daughter, I have my revolver in the truck and I’m going to go double check that I locked. So, between 12:30 am to 6:15 am some ass munch stole the change out of my ashtray, my Judge revolver along with a craftsman tool set. I had a $300.00 Chainsaw in the back of my truck, $350.00 Nikkon binoculars, $289.00 Drill with 2 $89.00 batteries. Theses assholes went only for gun. I reported to the police and they did show up. The only way these thugs could’ve got in was a slim Jim or I heard that they now have technology to bypass your alarm systems. .

Sorry, comment time is over.
