West Seattle restaurants: Dumplings of Fury sets a date

9:52 PM: West Seattle’s most-asked-about restaurant-in-progress has set an opening date. During an event at Shadowland tonight, as dumplings were circulated, we heard from a reliable source that its sibling establishment Dumplings of Fury – just across the California/Oregon intersection – expects to open on Wednesday, July 20th. Looking for confirmation, we see the date announcement was tucked away in this online corner.

ADDED THURSDAY MORNING: Phone photo of aforementioned dumplings:

I know someone last week was mentioning about no good Chinese restaurant in WSea. (besides some waiting for Dumplings and the Ramen place, the work being done on the old Chopstix to become The ‘New’ Luck Toy). Well there is a small, nice family run place just east of WSea. down on 4th. So. @ Mead (5807 4th Ave. So.) called  Lucky Chinese. It’s across the street from that Showgirl place stripclub (ugh!) called Kittens, up the street from St. Vincent de Paul. Not much to look at, but the husband and wife are hard workers and they get the lunch crowd but are open every day (except Sun.) until 9:00pm. I LOVE their house Lucky Fried Rice. Can eat the whole big thing in one sitting! Might want to give it a try.. North end WSea. folks take Spokane St. Bridge and turn south to 4th So. South end WSea. folks take 1st Ave. So. Bridge and go north. They are worth a try. We enjoy it.

BTW, how were those circulated dumplings?  Are they planning on serving soup dumplings?

I’m adding co-publisher Patrick’s phone picture but that’s all we have to offer – we don’t eat on the job, so no review unless someone else who was at the event (a farewell for departing Junction Association director Susan Melrose) sees this and has something to say! – TR

I come from NYC and have been coming out to West Seattle for over 20 years.

It has always amazed me that I could never find a Chinese TakeOut where I could just go in and get a Quart of Wonton Soup and an Egg roll and go home.   What’s up with that??  Hopefully this Dumpling restaurant will satisfy my desire.
