‘In case you wondered too’ #2: Low-flying helicopter off Alki

IMG_4932

This one, we haven’t solved yet. Lots of texts – a few with photos, including the one above – wondering about this: A low-flying helicopter was off Alki for a while this evening, near a yacht at one point, near an Argosy Cruises boat at another point. Neither the boat nor the helicopter showed on trackers, so we haven’t figured out yet who/what/why – from some past stories, looked to us like a possible photo shoot. Any info, we’d love to hear it, in comments or via e-mail – editor@westseattleblog.com – thanks!

The helicopter was doing a sales video for the super yacht build in Lake Union. Pretty regular occurrence off Alki Point.

Thanks. If it’s “regular,” then most of the shoots must be in places and times that are not as visible, as this is the first time in a long time that we’ve been barraged with “there’s a helicopter flying low over the water by a boat” texts/questions.

What is a “super yacht build” ? We saw the yellow helicopter flying VERY close over 2 small red speed boats going west into Eagle Harbor on Bainbridge, Monday evening around 5:30 pm, and then returning eastbound. What is that all about?

I wonder if that is the same one that was flying around SSC around 4pm. I had thought it must be Guardian One at the time, but after checking images, I realized I would have seen the “Sherrif” on the side.

Or “Sheriff” if it were the real thing. Thanks a lot spellchecker!

Sorry, comment time is over.
