2:59 PM: Thanks for the tips about the police activity south of Fairmount Ravine, including SWAT officers. So far, all we’ve been able to find out is that they’re serving a warrant – that’s what we learned at the scene. What kind of warrant, we haven’t been able to find out yet, aside from that it’s not any kind of active just-happened-crime type of incident – we’ll update with anything more we do find out.

6:17 PM: We’ve just learned from police that this was a “narcotics search warrant” case. We may yet find out even more, but for starters, that’s an added detail.

I live three houses away from Hiawatha park and heard a giant crash and glass breaking. I look outside to see SWAT officers surrounding a car and they were arresting a man. It looks like his car crashed into another car that was parked at the end of the block. The crash wasn’t too big. Not sure what happened.

Drove past is on my way to work. Looked to be at least 2 Suburban sized vehicles surrounding another Suburban sized vehicle. Saw at least on SWAT officer with what looked to be an MP5 standing by the suspect.
Glad they got their guy, and everyone looked safe, suspect included.

One of the Atwood brothers coming home perhaps? Haven’t heard much from them lately.

No, not that area of Fairmount. Duane Atwood BTW is still in prison.

This happened right by our house. Although the picture isn’t very good, you can see the SUV that the police crashed into behind the VW van. We weren’t about to go outside as there at least 5 were police/SWAT officers with assault rifles drawn.

Darrin Atwood , was a normal guy @5-8 yrs ago. He’s mutual friends with some  life long friends of mine…anyway my 18 yr son bought a bag of weed 40$) and darrin said pay me next time or when ever &the next time he’s saw darrin, he pulled a sawed off shotgun in my kids face over 40$.

That cat is dangerous and scary to us all. He needs to go to jail.

Sorry, comment time is over.
