TRAFFIC ALERT: Crash at 35th/104th

10:25 PM: Another crash tonight – this time, in Arbor Heights, at 35th and 104th. According to scanner traffic, a driver has hit “several” parked cars and a fence. We’re off to check it out.

10:36 PM: This appears to have happened on the east (northbound) side of the street; traffic is getting through.

The cars involved are totalled. I hope this wasnt a drunk driver.

The driver was not drunk. He is an older male aprox 70 y.o. Apparently he either had a seizure or temporarily passed out and drove through a front yard and crashed into 3 parked cars. He then went through a fence and ended up hitting a medium sized tree that stopped his momentum. The 3 cars that were hit were definitely heavily damaged, as his speed was probably in the 35 mph range and he did not hit his brakes at all– there were no skid marks. Seattle Fire and Police responded– EMT’s administered aid to the driver but he was not injured, just a little dizzy. Don’t know for sure but he was probably cited for either negligent or reckless driving. Luckily there was nobody outside either house or there would have certainly been severe injuries.

Don’t know what’s going on out here (35th/Arbor Heights), but I’ve seen some crazy driving behavior the last few days.  People swerving onto sidewalks,  domestic violence drama in vehicles, spinning in the center of the road, accelerating to 50 or so on side streets.  The morons are out in force.

Sorry, comment time is over.
